NEW PORT RICHEY – If Gulf’s Will Burbridge ends up playing for a major college program, it likely will be as either a fullback or H-back.
So says Gulf coach Jay Fulmer.
“He’s a hard-nosed player,” Fulmer said.
A few colleges have taken notice.
Fulmer said Thursday that Burbridge, who also plays defensive end, is getting strong interest from Troy and Western Michigan. Colorado State, to a lesser extent, also is in the mix.
Troy likes the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder at H-back, a combo of fullback and tight end. And Fulmer thinks a scholarship offer is possible.
“They want to look at his film,” Fulmer said.
