Pasco's Hakeeme Ishmar commits to Florida Atlantic

Hakeeme Ishmar became the second Pasco football player to commit to a Division I program this weekend. Ishmar, an all-around athlete who played a multitude of positions for the Pirates, has given a pledge to Florida Atlantic according to Pasco coach Tom McHugh.

Ishmar carried ten times for 107 yards and four touchdowns and caught 12 passes for 192 more. Defensively, the 6-foot-3, 200 pound Ishmar recorded 17 tackles and had three sacks for the Pirates, who finished the 2010 season with an 11-1 record and advanced to the Class 3A region semifinals.

Ishmar also averages a double-double as a forward on Pasco's basketball team and is currently the Pirates' second leading scorer at 13.2 points a game. He also averages 10.3 rebounds a game.

The Owls are recruiting Ishmar as a tight end.

Ishmar joins safety Jamie Byrd as the second Pasco player to verbal this week. On Friday, Byrd ended his recruitment by selecting Boise State.
