Armwood S Kyle Gibson set off some figurative fireworks of his own late Thursday night, revealing his top five college choices via Twitter.
They are (in no particular order): Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Miami and USF. Gibson has been to the Vandy and USF campuses, and is believed to be planning trips to the other three. Hawks coach Sean Callahan said he believes Gibson will choose a college at the beginning of the season.
Gibson (6-foot, 170 pounds) is rated the nation's No. 9 safety and 161st prospect overall by ESPN. He reportedly ran the 40-yard dash in 4.65 seconds and recorded a 4.27-second shuttle run during SPARQ training at The Opening, a national recruiting showcase held earlier this week in Beaverton, Ore.
As a junior, he registered 65 tackles, four interceptions and four forced fumbles.
