Armwood RT Kevin McCoy has committed to Vanderbilt after a weekend visit to Nashville, Hawks coach Sean Callahan told the Times this morning.

McCoy becomes Armwood's 10th Division I commitment from the Class of 2012 -- by far a program record for one season. If he binds his verbal declaration by signing with the Commodores on Wednesday, he'll become the second Hawk to join Vandy's program in the last two seasons. QB Josh Grady just completed his redshirt season in Nashville.

McCoy, who had narrowed his choices to Vandy and UCF, was a flabby 14-year-old "couch potato" when arriving on Armwood's campus four summers ago, but transformed into a rangy (6-foot-6, 275 pounds) stalwart on the Hawks line who started every game each of the past two seasons.
