Hernando ATH Alvin Delaine has picked up a pair of scholarship offers from Georgia Southern and Elon.

The Times' 2009 North Suncoast Offensive Player of the Year said other schools looking at him include Auburn, USF and UCF.

Delaine said Georgia Southern wants him to play running back and Elon wants him to play in the secondary.

The 5-foot-9, 180-pounder has put on 10 pounds of muscle since last season. He's also increased his speed. In terms of summer plans, Delaine said he intends to hit the major in-state camps such as Florida, Florida State and UCF.

"A lot of schools are looking at me, but I haven't had many offers," Delaine said. "They told me to come to camps. They want to look at me more."

Academically, Delaine said he has the grades and scored a 20 on his ACT meaning he is an academic qualifier.

"I'm just ready," Delaine said. "I've been working hard, and I just have to keep grades. (These offers) just keep me working harder."

Delaine helped the Leopards to a 7-3 record in '09 rushing for almost 1,700 yards and 24 touchdowns. Delaine averaged 9.1 yards per carry. He also had 15 receptions for 268 yards and four touchdowns.
