Hernando senior Alvin Delaine has yet to pick up a Division I-A scholarship offer, but that hasn't discouraged the 5-foot-10, 190-pound running back and safety.
Delaine figures he has six more games in the regular season to prove his versatility to recruiters hesitant to pull the trigger, plus a handful of playoff games should the Leopards advance to the postseason.
"I still have a lot of games to show what I can do," Delaine said.
Delaine pulled in scholarship offers from Georgia Southern and Elon over the summer and said he has been receiving a lot of attention from Jacksonville University and USF among others. But he has no favorite.
"I'm wide open right now," he said.
Delaine has rushed 57 times for 266 yards and five touchdown this season for Hernando (3-1). He's also tied for the team lead with 16 tackles, has one receiving touchdown and returned an interception 88 yards for a touchdown.
