Hernando head coach John Palmer said that senior Alvin Delaine has picked up a pair of scholarship offers from Olivet Nazarene University and Minot State University.

Both are NAIA schools.

Palmer also said that Delaine has a preferred walk-on opportunity at Division I-AA Georgia Southern. Delaine had received an offer from the Eagles as well as Elon over the summer, but both of those options appear to be off the table now.

Additionally, a couple of other D-II schools, Wofford and Charleston Southern, are showing a lot of interest in the 5-foot-9, 190 pound athlete as well.

Delaine gained 1,072 yards on 152 carries for Hernando this season, an average of over seven yards a run. He rushed for 18 touchdowns and had four more through the air. As a safety on defense, Delaine made 48 stops and picked off three passes.

As a junior, Delaine was named the St. Petersburg Times' all-North Suncoast offensive player of the year after he rushed for almost 1,700 yards and 24 touchdowns.
