Times' Super 7
1. Brandon (14-2):
The Eagles, winners of eight straight, have taken over the top perch. They’ve scored at least 11 runs in each of their past three games and  clinched the top seed in Class 6A-8.
2. Jesuit (15-1):  The Tigers have outscored district opponents 55-5 in their past four district games. Saturday’s game against Jefferson should provide a test before Jesuit’s Easter tournament next week.
3. Gaither (12-2): Between feasting on Class 5A-9 opponents — they are  9-0 in league play — the Cowboys earned a good win over Durant. But we still think Gaither’s pitching has something to prove.
4. Tampa Catholic (10-2): Eight-inning loss to CCC in Dunedin Tournament dropped Crusaders from the top spot and prevented dream matchup to Pinellas No. 1 Dunedin.
5. Steinbrenner (12-2): This Warriors team, led by some solid pitching, is starting to remind us a little of some of John Crumbley’s other teams at that other school he coached.
6. Alonso (12-4): Ravens have won four straight in convincing fashion, outscoring opponents 31-3. It’s a nice time to get hot, because April 10  Alonso starts its defense of its Saladino Tournament crown.
7. Durant (9-5): Don’t look now. Cougars pitching duo of Cameron Ellis and Trey Oest make Durant a  dangerous team come playoff time. Just ask Armwood, which has already lost twice in district play to the Cougars.
Also in the pack: Bloomingdale (10-5), Armwood (10-6), Jefferson (9-4), Plant City (10-6), Cambridge (13-2)
