Times’ Super Seven
Records through Wednesday
1. Jesuit (19-1): Tigers are No. 1 in the nation again, just in time for their out-of-town competition at the Jesuit Easter Tournament.
2. Jefferson (18-4): Pitching continues to carry the Dragons, who are 5-1 in one-run games.
3. Bloomingdale (19-3): Champion of the area’s toughest district (Class 8A, District 7).
4. Steinbrenner (14-6): Loss of shortstop Stone Ramsey due to a broken wrist hurts an otherwise on-fire team.
5. Wharton (14-7): Defense and pitching will need to hold up to make it out of the district tournament.
6. Plant (13-6): Bats have been quieter than usual, but Panthers have a week before the district tournament.
7. Alonso (12-7): Don’t sleep on the Ravens — they closed out 8A-7 play with wins over Durant, Plant and Newsome.
Just a bit outside: Brandon (12-8), Durant (11-7), Freedom (13-6), Riverview (13-6)
