Times’ Super Seven
Records through Thursday
1. Jesuit (9-0): The Tigers have no visible weakness right now. Out of town visits from Jacksonville Bolles (Wednesday) and nationally ranked Miami Gulliver Prep (Saturday) should keep Jesuit sharp.
2. Plant (7-2): The Panthers, with their pitching depth, have to be considered the favorite in the Saladino field.
3. Bloomingdale (8-1): The Bulls’ only loss came in a game where many regulars sat. So far, so good for the senior-heavy squad.
4. Jefferson (7-2): No shame in losses to Plant and Riverview.
5. Gaither (6-3): Five of the Cowboys’ everyday players are hitting .300 or better.
6. Durant (5-2): If Trey Oest and Tyler Danish could pitch every game, the Cougars wouldn’t need to worry about scoring runs.
7. Alonso (6-3): The young Ravens are on a four-game winning streak that includes a win over Plant. Ryan Valdes, a Florida State commit, is hitting as well as anyone in the county.
Just a bit outside: Riverview (5-4), Robinson (5-3), Steinbrenner (5-4), Sickles (6-3), Strawberry Crest (6-2), Tampa Catholic (4-4) Wharton (6-3)
