Hillsborough QB James Pensyl transfers to Land O'Lakes

QB James Pensyl has transferred from Hillsborough to Land O’Lakes, Gators coach Brian Wachtel said in a text message Thursday afternoon.

The 6-foot-3 Pensyl threw for 128 yards and a touchdown last year as a freshman for the Terriers. His touchdown pass against Armwood ended the Hawks' streak of four consecutive shutouts.

He could incite a quarterback battle with sophomore Ethan Weilant, who threw two touchdown passes last fall but saw plenty of action as the Gators’ backup.
