Hillsborough's leading rusher, senior Rodney Johnson, has committed to Florida A&M, Terriers coach Earl Garcia said Monday morning.

Johnson just visited the Tallahassee college a week ago on his official visit and came away impressed. He also just tripped to Murray State. He had offers from both schools, as well as Bethune-Cookman and Youngstown State.

Johnson, who returned to Hillsborough as a senior after transferring to Middleton his junior season, ran for 802 yards on 89 carries, averaging 9 yards a carry. He scored a team-high eight rushing touchdowns. He also made 10 catches for 118 yards and a touchdowns.

Johnson joins defensive back Terrence Mitchell (USF) and quarterback Tarean Austin (New Mexico) as players signing letter of intents on Wednesday. Also, as reported last week, tight end Jordan Duval will accept a preferred walk-on role at USF.
