Hillsborough junior midfielder Alexa Morse has committed to Furman University, her father Craig said Tuesday evening.
Morse, who scored a team-high 17 goals last season, had several Division I offers, but chose Furman over offers from Tennessee and Davidson. One major factor was academics. Morse is an IB student at Hillsborough.
This past season, Morse was a First Team All-Western Conference National Division honoree and a Times All-Hillsborough County Honorable Mention selection.
Morse also plays for the HC United U-18 club team.
Furman finished last season 10-8 with a 4-7 record in the Southern Conference.
