At stake: Winner faces Orlando Timber Creek/Orlando East River winner in Friday’s Class 8A region finals
Who’s hot for Durant: Everyone with a bat. The Cougars, hitting .363 as a team, collected 14 hits in an 11-0 quarterfinal romp of East Lake.
Who’s hot for PHU: SS Jessica Adams had three hits — including a homer — in the ’Canes’ 8-4 come-from-behind win against Wharton in the quarterfinals. Slap hitter Moriah Connolly entered the playoffs hitting .536
Did you know? The teams met in this round last year, with the Cardiac Cougars rallying from a 3-0 deficit for an eight-inning, 6-5 win on JoJo LaFave’s walk-off home run.

Freedom (19-3) at Chamberlain (21-7)

Winner faces Sarasota/Braden River winner in Friday’s Class 7A region finals
Who’s hot for Chamberlain: Ace Rachel Dwyer, a Virginia signee, tossed a three-hitter in Wednesday’s 5-0 quarterfinal win against St. Petersburg
Who’s hot for Freedom: Junior Ashley Wilson (.311) went 2-for-3 with a run scored in last week’s 2-0 quarterfinal win against Countryside
Did you know? This is the teams’ fourth meeting this year. Chamberlain won two of the first three.

Winner faces Kissimmee Osceola/Harmony winner in Friday’s Class 7A region finals
Who’s hot for Plant City: Sophomore Noelle Dietrich tossed a four-hitter against Bartow and had a pair of RBIs in the Raiders’ 5-2 quarterfinals win.
Who’s hot for Lake Region: Junior Haley Wiseman tossed a three-hitter and struck out 13 East Bay batters in the Thunder’s 4-1 region quarterfinals win.
Did you know? Three of Polk County heavyweight Bartow’s four losses came against these teams. Lake Region topped the Yellow Jackets twice.

At stake:
Winner faces Mitchell/River Ridge winner in Friday’s Class 6A region finals
Who’s hot for Strawberry Crest: Nursing a partially-torn left quad, junior ace Sammy Tyler tossed a two-hitter and struck out 12 in a 5-0 region quarterfinal win against Palmetto.
Who’s hot for Lakewood Ranch: Senior 3B Amber Wimmer had three hits and three RBIs in the Mustangs’ 9-1 region quarterfinal win against Sickles.

Bradenton Bayshore (16-7) at Blake (12-10)

Winner faces Lake Wales/Auburndale winner in Friday’s Class 5A region finals
Who’s hot for Bayshore: The Bruins’ individual stats were unavailable, but they collected 14 hits in a 16-2 quarterfinal win against Lennard.
Who’s hot for Blake: Junior ace Amanda Weather (8-7, 2.31 ERA) also is the Yellow Jackets’ top hitter (.412, 14 RBIs).
Did you know? This is Blake’s first playoff appearance in 13 years, and Bayshore’s first in eight.

At stake: Winner faces Fort Myers Bishop Verot/LaBelle winner in Friday’s Class 4A region finals
Who’s hot for AHN: Senior Christina Gerecke (.512) enters on a 23-game hitting streak; classmate Caroline Sutton (.493) has hit safely in 19 of 21 games
Who’s hot for Mulberry: Sophomore Shaila Warren went 3-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run in the Panthers’ 5-4 quarterfinal win against Tampa Catholic.
