Super 7
Records through Tuesday:
1. Strawberry Crest (12-1): The Chargers have shut out six of their past nine opponents. Their hot streak includes a 12-0 win over Bloomingdale, which handed Strawberry Crest its only loss of the year.
2. Bloomingdale (10-1): The Bulls’ loss to Strawberry Crest shouldn’t overshadow a 1-0 win over host Sarasota in last week’s tournament.
3. Steinbrenner (6-1): Today’s home game against Strawberry Crest will be an enormous test for the rested Warriors.
4. Plant City (11-4): Junior Noelle Dietrich allowed only two earned runs in 14 innings of last week’s tournament in Sarasota. Both of them came in a 3-2 win over Alonso.
5.  Alonso (9-3): Kayla Maxwell has quietly put up a solid senior season: 1.29 ERA, almost one strikeout per inning and a 5-1 record.
6. Jefferson (9-4): The Dragons have racked up some impressive wins over Chamberlain, Leto and, last week, against a good Tampa Catholic team.
7. Seffner Christian (10-1): Rain washed out a chance for the Crusaders to face Academy at the Lakes in a battle between two of the area’s top private school teams.
Also considered: Tampa Catholic, Newsome, Chamberlain, Robinson, Leto, Academy of the Holy Names
