1. Bloomingdale (18-1, 9-0): The Bulls are back on top with a five-game win streak — and five consecutive shutouts.
2. Plant City (16-4, 8-1): The Raiders have won eight games in a row. The biggest was a 4-0 shutout of Strawberry Crest that puts Emily Register and her team in a tie atop Class 7A, District 7.
3. Chamberlain (14-2, 12-1): The Class 6A, District 9 favorites are coming off of impressive victories against Strawberry Crest and Leto.
4. Strawberry Crest (18-5, 8-1): Mia Fung and the Chargers snapped a three-game skid with a much-needed 5-4 win over Durant.
5. Gaither (14-3, 6-1): Elizabeth Mason (.538 average) leads a surging team that’s scored at least five runs in six of its past seven games.
6. Alonso (15-4, 6-3): The Ravens will likely take a five-game win streak into Friday’s matchup against mighty Bloomingdale. Alonso lost the first meeting 2-1.
