Hillsborough DE/TE Jordan Sherit will formally receive his invitation to the prestigious U.S. Army All-American Bowl at a mid-morning ceremony at his school next Wednesday.
A University of Florida commitment, Sherit (6-foot-5, 234 pounds) will be honored in the school auditorium at an assembly featuring classmates, friends and family members. The bowl game will be held Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. (EST) at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. NBC will broadcast the game live.
Deemed a four-star prospect by both ESPN and Rivals, Sherit has a team-best four sacks in four games this season, and has caught five passes for 82 yards. As a junior, he led the Terriers in tackles (110), sacks (nine) and fumble recoveries (five). He projects as a defensive end or pass-rushing "jack" linebacker at the next level.
The game, which will be played for the 13th time in January, has featured a showcase of eventual college and NFL stars including Tim Tebow, Mark Sanchez, Andrew Luck, Marcus Lattimore and Ndamukong Suh.
