Highly recruiting Hillsborough defensive back Terrence Mitchell has scheduled official visits next month to North Carolina and USF, Terriers coach Earl Garcia confirmed.

Mitchell is slated to visit UNC on Dec. 4 and USF on Dec. 11.

Ranked the fifth best cornerback prospect and the 84th best recruit in the nation overall by Rivals.com, Mitchell already made official visits to Georgia and Tennessee. He still plans to use his fifth and final visit to go to Florida State, but he hasn't scheduled a trip there yet.

Meanwhile, it appears that two schools have emerged as frontrunners for Mitchell -- USF and Tennessee.

The Vols have put a hard press on the area, particularly at Mitchell and Tampa Catholic recruit Chaz Green. Tennessee would be attractive to Mitchell because he's also looking for the chance to run track in college and the Vols have one of the top college programs in the nation. Mitchell would also be running for former county rival Dentarius Locke (Chamberlain).

Other than the proximity, Mitchell could play with former Hillsborough teammate Lindsey Lamar, a running back who has become an impact player as a true freshman, at USF.
