Sickles two-way standout Scott O'Donoghue, the top tackler for last year's 8-3 playoff team, has received a scholarship offer from Division I-AA Holy Cross, Coach Pat O'Brien said Tuesday.

"He's their No. 1 linebacker," O'Brien said. "That's what they told him over the weekend."

An official visit to the school hasn't been set, O'Brien added. O'Donoghue also has received an offer from NAIA program Benedectine College in Atchison, Kansas; and has garnered strong interest from the Coast Guard Academy.

O'Donoghue (6-foot, 198 pounds) tallied 137 tackles and five sacks as a senior, and ran for 356 yards in the Gryphons' triple-option offense. He even started at quarterback in a playoff game at Armwood after starter John Melvin Hendrick was injured, and led Sickles to a near upset before falling 22-9.
