The Academy of the Holy Names will be holding its third annual Play for the Cure/Swim for the Cure Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Friday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m.
The fundraising event, which will include simutaneously played home Holy Names volleyball match and a swim meet -- both against Tampa Catholic -- will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer research. A check for the amount raised will be presented by the school to a Komen Foundation representative at a subsequent Holy Names sporting event.
The event, which began in 2007 by the Holy Names volleyball team, raised $3,100 in its first two years.
