The host Wharton volleyball team capped a perfect showing at its own weekend tournament, winning all five matches and defeating Freedom 25-10, 25-10 in the championship match.

The Wildcats (7-1) did not drop a game in the tournament, beating Strawberry Crest, Wiregrass Ranch and Brandon in pool play before edging King in the gold bracket semifinals.

In the championship match victory over Freedom, Wharton outside hitter Kaci Andreychuk, the daughter of former Lightning captain Dave Andreychuk, led the Wildcats with 12 kills. Ashton Stocker added a team-high 10 assists.

Here are the tournament's final standings:
1: Wharton
2: Freedom
3: King
4: Strawberry Crest
5: Riverview
6: Zephyrhills
