Hudson has turned to a familiar face to lead its baseball program.

The Cobras have hired Robert Petrucci as their next head baseball coach, athletic director Keith Newton said in an email Thursday morning.

Petrucci was a center fielder and pitcher at Hudson, where he was a first-team all-conference selection as a senior in 2002. He signed with PHCC before playing at Valdosta State.

He served as a JV coach at Central before taking a teaching job at Crews Lake Middle School.

Petrucci replaces Tony Egan, a first-year head coach who was dismissed late in the season because of a bus supervision issue, according to the Pasco County School District.
