Hudson is looking for a new baseball coach after the dismissal of coach Tony Egan, Cobras athletic director Keith Newton said in an email Tuesday afternoon.

Newton said the district told the school it needed to make a change “due to a problem during the season” but did not offer specifics.

County athletic director Phil Bell confirmed that the problem originated at the end of the season.

“He did miss the last week of the season,” Bell said, “and although I won’t elaborate, I can confirm there was a bus supervision issue that prompted the decision.”

Principal David LaRoche declined to elaborate and said only that the school had “concerns about supervision within the program.”

Egan was hired as head coach in September. Newton said he hopes to name a replacement before the end of the month.

Also Tuesday, Newton announced that Stephen Jones has been named Hudson’s new volleyball coach.
