Hudson has begun accepting applications for its vacant football coaching job.

The school posted the opening on the county’s job board this morning, Cobras athletic director Keith Newton said. The advertisement will be up for five days, so interested parties have that long to apply.

Newton said school officials will meet after that to review candidates and begin interviews.

The job came open when coach Justin Fenton resigned after the season to spend more time with his family. The Cobras finished winless the last two years.

Newton said he’s already heard from a handful of prospective candidates, including some outside of Pasco County and Florida.

Hudson is one of two vacant coaching positions in the North Suncoast. Ridgewood’s Kent Reed stepped down as the Rams’ coach earlier this month.
