Who’s ready for next year’s recruiting cycle?
On day most major senior prospects made their commitments official, Armwood All-American DB Leon McQuay III, a junior, received an offer from Illinois, his father said. Earlier this month, the 6-foot-2, 175-pound sophomore also received an offer from Alabama to go along with the 13 he had previously received. In addition to those 15, he has also spoken with coaches from Clemson and Stanford, Leon McQuay Jr. said.
McQuay recorded 66 total tackles, nine passes defended, four interceptions, one caused fumble and a fumble recovery as he and the Hawks went a perfect 15-0 and won the Class 6A state title. He played his best game of the season on the biggest stage, recording a season-high seven tackles and a pick six in the 40-31 win over Miami Central in the state title game.
Here is McQuay’s full list of offers, which includes four SEC schools and all the major state schools: Alabama, Boston College, Florida, Florida State, Illinois, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Florida, Tennessee, UAB, UCLA and Vanderbilt.
