The injury report keeps getting worse for Gibbs.

As expected, backup running back Adrian Johnson will miss the rest of the season after tearing the MCL and ACL in his knee in last week's loss to Lakewood. Johnson is the third Gladiators' skill player to suffer a season ending knee injury, joining running back Emmanuel Stewart (ACL) and quarterback Devontae White (ACL).

Backup quarterback Devontay Williams is bothered by a knee injury and will move to receiver to reduce the amount of hits he will take on it, Gibbs coach Antonio Knox said. Patric Jones, the junior varsity quarterback, will take over as the starter on varsity. Jones threw a touchdown pass in the spring game against Bradenton Manatee.

The Gladiators have been so banged up that as many as 12 players were unavailable for practice Monday because they had not been cleared by doctors.

"I've never seen anything like it," Knox said. "We've been through a lot of adversity and we just have to keep fighting through it. The show goes on."
