Clearwater LB Jeremiah George said tonight his weekend official visit to Iowa State went well.

In fact, on a scale from 1 to 10, he gave it a 9.5.

“It was a great trip,” George said.

Iowa State has been his favorite for quite some time, but the 6-foot, 215-pounder needed to see what the program was all about for himself.

And now he has.

“This trip sets them apart,” George said.

George not only watched the Cyclones beat Baylor, but talked extensively with the team’s coaches while on campus.

“I didn’t know what to expect,” he said. “I liked it. I found out a lot about their defensive scheme. Their defensive coordinator, (former USF assistant) Wally Burnham, wants faster linebackers. I would fit perfectly in that scheme.”

George currently has no other visits scheduled, but said he’s also considering Kansas and Michigan. The Jayhawks have offered him a scholarship; the Wolverines have not.

Michigan is new to the mix.

The Wolverines recently asked for video of George in action, and some was sent to them last week. George said he thinks his chances of landing a Michigan offer are strong.

“I’m having a very good season,” he said.
