Indian Rocks Christian girls basketball coach Phil Farver will try to get his 500th career win when his team plays St. Petersburg Catholic on Tuesday.
Farver previously coached at Montgomery, Ala. and at Dade Christian in Miami. But the majority of his wins (322) have come in 19 seasons as coach of the Golden Eagles.
Farver would be the second coach in Pinellas County to reach 500 career wins, joining Clearwater's Tom Shaneyfelt, who reached that milestone in 2007. Keswick Christian coach Karrmayne King reached the 400-win plateau last season.
