Mitchell shooting guard Jake Driscoll returned to the Mustangs' lineup last night against River Ridge after missing eight games with mono, and there was very little rust for the junior to shake off.
Driscoll, the North Suncoast's scoring leader at 24 points a game, had one point more than his average after scoring 25 against the Royal Knights. It was Driscoll's first game action since a 13-point win over Sunlake on Dec. 22.
Against River Ridge, Driscoll made eight field goals, including three from three-point range. Driscoll, a 77% free throw shooter, also went 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.
Despite Driscoll's return, Mitchell wasn't able to snap its losing streak, which now stands at seven games after a 44-40 loss to the Royal Knights.
