South Carolina freshman TB Jarvis Giles, a Gaither alum, was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week for his efforts in the Gamecocks' 38-16 win over Florida Atlantic on Saturday night.
Giles led the Gamecocks with 113 yards rushing on 11 carries. He scored once.
Giles’ long run was a 38-yard gain. His TD was a 12-yard rush in the third quarter.
It was the first 100-yard rushing game for a Gamecock since Mike Davis opened the 2008 season with 101 yards against NC State and the first 100-year rushing game for a Gamecock freshman since Taylor Rank in 2006.
