The bad news at Palm Harbor University: According to football coach Mark Haye, first-string QB Ja'Tyuan Landing is still out with a sprained right ankle, an injury he sustained in Week 1 against Tarpon Springs.
The good news at PHU: Landing’s backup, Billy Pavlock, is 1-0 as the starter (he beat Pinellas Park last week), is completing 70 percent of his passes and is the Hurricanes’ leading rusher with 114 yards on 14 carries.
The 5-foot-10, 150-pound Pavlock is only a sophomore.
PHU (1-1) plays at Seminole (1-1) on Thursday.
