At least a dozen Jefferson seniors are expected to sign with D-I and I-AA schools come February, but next year's top Jefferson recruit received plenty of attention this week.
Defensive end Tyriq McCord, who has already received verbal offers from South Carolina and Rutgers, received two more major offers.
Notre Dame visited Jefferson on Wednesday and made McCord a verbal offer. On Thursday, Florida assistant coach Stan Drayton stopped by the Dragons' West Tampa campus and gave McCord a verbal offer, Jefferson coach Mike Fenton said.
Fenton said North Carolina has also shown serious interest.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound McCord has tallied 54 tackles and 14 sacks this season. As a part-time tight end, he has 4 catches for 65 yards and 2 touchdowns.
In other Dragons recruiting news, while UF stopped short of making an offer, the Gators also have jumped into the chase for star linebacker Ramik Wilson.
"(Drayton) said he wondered why they hadn't offered him yet," Fenton said.
Wilson, who has 69 tackles, 15 sacks and 6 forced fumbles, recently said was planning visits to Georgia, Purdue, Texas Tech and Arkansas. Georgia made an in-home visit with Wilson on Tuesday.
Wilson has about 25 offers, but none from the Big 3 state schools. Fenton said Wilson is still "wide open."
The undefeated Dragons (12-0) host Ocala Vanguard (10-2) tonight in the Class 3A region final.
