Heralded Clearwater LB Jeremiah George has pulled the trigger.
He will be a Cyclone.
George, a Rivals.com three-star prospect, has committed to Iowa State, a school he recently visited. He confirmed his commitment in a text message.
Iowa State had been his favorite for quite some time, but the 6-foot, 215-pounder needed to see what the program was all about for himself. The visit helped seal the deal.
“This trip sets them apart,” George said shortly after returning to Clearwater.
While at ISU, George watched the Cyclones beat Baylor, and talked extensively with the team’s coaches.
“I didn’t know what to expect,” he said. “I liked it. I found out a lot about their defensive scheme. Their defensive coordinator, (former USF assistant) Wally Burnham, wants faster linebackers. I would fit perfectly in that scheme.”
George also considered Kansas, Michigan and UCF.
ISU is 5-5 this season, but has dropped two straight games.
According to Rivals.com, George is one of the Cyclones' highest-rated commitments.
