Tonight, Clearwater LB/RB Jeremiah George faces Pinellas Park.

Friday morning, he will board a plane and head to Iowa State for his first official visit.

“I’m very excited,” the 6-foot, 215-pound George said.

Iowa State, which has offered a scholarship, is among George’s leaders. He also likes Kansas and UCF, but other schools also are likely to enter the mix.

Iowa State plays Baylor on Saturday.

“I’m excited to see Iowa State play,” George said. “I’m excited to see what Ames, Iowa is like. I’m excited to see what the coaching staff is like. I just want to see how the atmosphere is and how everything goes.”

Temperatures should be in the high 30s for the game, which begins at 7 p.m. local time.

“It’s going to be pretty cold,” George said. “I’ll get a taste of what would happen if I went there.”

George won’t be the only local visiting ISU this weekend.

Gibbs WR/DB Jarvis West also is making the trip to Ames. George said he believe West also has an ISU offer.
