Jerica Coley approaching milestone … will a school record follow?

St. Petersburg Catholic girls basketball standout Jerica Coley, a senior, is likely to soon reach the 1,500 point mark for her career. Currently, the star guard has 1,428 entering tonight’s game at the Academy of the Holy Names -- along with 517 rebounds, 310 assists, and 410 steals.

Coley is fourth on the school’s career scoring list.

Lisa Cronauer, with 1,817 points, is at the top.

Can Coley catch her?

It won’t be easy, but SPC could have as many as 15 or so games left this season, depending on how far the team goes in the playoffs (if it gets there). Coley is averaging better than 20 points per game, which gives her a legitimate shot of moving to No. 1.
