Jesuit senior outfielder Ricky Caldevilla has orally committed to USF, according to Tigers coach Richie Warren.

Caldevilla is poised to follow the example of former Tigers stars and recent USF signees Vincent Miniet and Daniel Portales in 2013 and Joe Altieri and Vincent Leto in 2012.

As a junior, Caldevilla hit .400 with 33 RBIs, making him one of the county’s leaders in that category. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Caldevilla was an integral part of one of the state’s best teams, helping lead the Tigers to the Class 5A semifinals.

Along with senior catcher Ryan McCullers, Caldevilla will be one of the leaders for another Tigers team that should contend for another district and region championship.

USF went 36-22 last year, ending its season in the Big East tournament.
