Jesuit two-way lineman Cameron Ruff has committed to USF, becoming Hillsborough County's third rising senior lineman to make an oral pledge to the Bulls in the last week.

Ruff (6-foot-3, 290 pounds), who received his offer at a Bulls team camp two weeks ago, joins Robinson linemen Bruce Hector and Connor Rafferty as recent USF commitments.

He chose Skip Holtz's program over 11 other Division I schools that offered him, including Iowa State, Syracuse, Purdue and Cincinnati.

"I chose USF because it felt like a second home," Ruff said in a text message to the Times. "And the environment is very welcoming, especially the coaches and the local players going there."

Considered a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, Ruff had 14 pancake blocks, 19 tackles and a sack in 2011. He'll line up at tackle on both sides this autumn.
