Jimbo Kynes winner Mondor making trips

Plant offensive guard Andre Mondor had a packed 18th birthday Thursday.

The 320-pound senior won the Jimbo Kynes Award, given to the county's top lineman, on Thursday morning. Later in the day, he was slated to fly to the University of Albany for an official visit.

Albany, a Division I-AA school, as well as Division I-AA Liberty and Stony Brook, have all offered Mondor scholarships.

Mondor has been a starter on both of Plant's state championship teams in 2008 and '09.
