Plant has been the bay area's most successful team the past few years, but couldn't quite bring home its third straight title Friday. The Panthers (12-3) didn't have enough firepower to hang with nationally-ranked Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas (15-0), falling 29-7 in the Class 5A championship. "We just didn’t play to our fullest potential,” Plant QB Phillip Ely said. “We had it. We just didn’t execute the way we wanted to.”
