Berkeley Prep outside hitter Jordan Burgess is only a sophomore, but college already is on her mind. When asked how much she thinks about playing at the next level, Burgess quickly replied, “All the time.”
A 6-foot standout with superb all-court skills, Burgess arguably is the top 10th-grader in the state, and possibly the country.
Yes, she’s that good.
Colleges can’t officially offer scholarships until she’s a junior, but plenty of them have expressed interest. In fact, Burgess already is “trying to narrow it down.”
Which schools does she like?
On Saturday, she mentioned the following: California, Florida, Nebraska and Texas. Not surprisingly, all are national powers.
“I really want to go to the best school I can,” Burgess said.
Burgess also excels in the class.
She currently maintains a 4.0 GPA.
