Keswick Christian, led by a strong ground game, beat Southwest Florida Academy 23-8 in a preseason game last week.
The Crusaders' Andrew Logue and Jayln Coleman each scored on 6-yard runs. Adam Foster ran 11 yards before fumbling and the ball was recovered in the end zone by lineman Travis L'Eon. Armani Leonardo kicked a 32-yard field goal to round out the scoring for Keswick.
Logue finished with 159 yards on 17 carries and Coleman had 65 rushing yards on eight carries.
The win was big for the Crusaders, who were 1-9 last season.
"We made a lot of mistakes, which we need to correct," Keswick coach Rick Sanson said. "But we're starting to come together."
