Keswick Christian Invitational volleyball tournament starts Thursday

Last season, host Keswick Christian rallied from a game down to defeat Canterbury 23-25, 25-15, 15-12 in the final of the Keswick Christian Invitational volleyball tournament. It was the first time this millennium the Crusaders won their own tournament. They'll try to defend their title against Canterbury and 14 other teams during this year's  three-day tournament, which begins Thursday.

Format: Each team plays three round robin matches against teams from their pool. First-place teams in each pool advance to the Gold division bracket. Second-place teams play in the Silver division bracket. Third-place teams go the Bronze division bracket, and fourth-place teams play in the Green division bracket. All bracket playoff matches are played on Saturday.

Friday: 3 – Admiral Farragut vs. Boca Raton Christian, St. Petersburg vs. Tarpon Springs; 4 – Dixie Hollins vs. Lakeland Christian, Calvary Christian vs. Tarpon Springs; 5 – Largo vs. Boca Raton Christian, Canterbury vs. Hernando Christian; 6 – Shorecrest vs. Lakeland Christian, Lakeside Christian vs. Tarpon Springs; 7 – Bayshore vs. Boca Raton Christian, SPC vs. Hernando Christian; 8 – Keswick Christian vs. Lakeland Christian, CDS vs. Hernando Christian.

Saturday: Gold division – semifinals 3:15, finals 5:45; Silver division – semifinals 2, finals 4:30; Bronze division – semifinals 10:15 a.m., finals 12:45; Green division – semifinals 9 a.m., finals 11:30 a.m.
