Kewick Christian named Dan Zomermaand as head boys basketball coach this week, Crusaders athletic director Karrmayne King said.

Zomermaand spent the past four years as a soccer and boys basketball coach at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Bradenton, which runs through eighth grade. Zomermaand also was an assistant at Bradenton Christian. He replaces Adam Spencer, who resigned after two seasons.

"I liked his passion and enthusiasm," King said of Zomermaand. "He reminds me a lot of Brad Stevens at Butler University. He's a young guy ready to get his start somewhere."
