The day after winning the Class 2A, District 10 tournament in Odessa, King senior golfer Kelsey Gibson indicated she is leaning toward signing with the University of Central Florida.

Gibson, whose 3-over-par 75 at Silver Dollar Golf Club earned her a two-stroke victory Monday, has visited UCF and Mercer University in Macon, Ga., and might visit the University of Miami next month. She said she likes UCF in part because of its location, campus and national title aspirations.

"I want to go to college to be pushed and I want to go to college to play with good girls," she said.

One thing working in UM's favor: Gibson's close friend, Jaime Ritter, is a Hurricanes freshman.
