A quick look at the out-of-area schools facing local football teams Friday night:

Game: Berkeley Prep (7-2) at Dixie County (9-1)
What: Class A playoffs, first round
When: 7:30 p.m.

Things to know about Dixie County High and its football team …

-Dixie County has scored 35 or more points in each of the team’s last seven games.
-Six Dixie County opponents have been held to fewer than 10 points. The Bears have three shutouts.
-Bears RB Stephen Godbolt has rushed for more than 1,000 yards and averages an impressive 11.37 yards per carry. In last week’s win over rival Newberry, he averaged 28 yards per carry on four rushes.
-Dixie County averages 262 rushing yards per game. Six players have rushed for more than 100 yards this season.
-The Bears have completed only 30 passes this season, but they’ve covered 628 yards (or 21 yards per catch).
-Ole Miss RB Rodney Scott, a freshman for the Rebs, is a Dixie County alum.
-Dixie County is located in the town of Cross County and is the county’s only high school. The nearby fishing village of Steinhatchee is known as the scalloping capital of the world.
-Former Florida Gator basketball great Eugene “The Dunking Machine” McDowell played for the Bears and was a McDonald's All-American in 1981.
