Lakewood defensive end Dante Fowler and Boca Ciega quarterback Shaquille Bradford will likely have to sit out next week after both were ejected in the first half of Thursday's game between the schools.

Fowler was ejected after he appeared to hold Bradford on the ground following an interception. Bradford was tossed after allegedly throwing a punch at Fowler. The Spartans won the game 14-13.

According to Florida High School Athletic Association rules, at least a one-game suspension follows ejections. Both schools are still waiting on the FHSAA to make a ruling on the game officials' report.

Lakewood coach Cory Moore said he will appeal to the FHSAA to allow Fowler to play in a district game against Dixie Hollins. Bradford said he will probably have to sit out against Leto but will talk to coach Stevie Thomas this week about whether to appeal.
