One of the more intimidating athletes at Land O'Lakes is Andrew Gorgen.
Whether on the soccer field or playing football, Gorgen provides a physical presence reminiscent of a hockey enforcer. He's big, strong and can flat out play.
That's one reason Rhodes (Tenn.) College offered him an opportunity to play linebacker. Gators coach Matt Kitchie said Gorgen considered several options including not playing sports collegiately.
"I don't hink he was ready to give up playing football," Kitchie said. "...He chose Rhodes, which I'm excited about. It's an outstanding academic institution."
The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder had 47 tackles and 13 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown last season.
