Land O'Lakes linebacker Jackson Cannon has been offered a preferred walk-on spot at USF, Gators coach Brian Wachtel said Wednesday morning in a text message.

Cannon also has a scholarship offer from Nebraska-Kearney.

Cannon led Land O'Lakes with 89 tackles and 3.5 sacks. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker also caught six passes as a tight end this fall. Cannon was named to the Sunshine Athletic Conference first team and the Times' all-North Suncoast second team. Cannon is a starter on the basketball team.
