Land O'Lakes planning soccer send-off

Land O'Lakes will send its boys soccer team off for its trip to the state semifinals at 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The departure time was initially scheduled for 10:30 but was pushed back an hour.

The Gators advanced to state Tuesday night with a 5-0 win over Gainesville Eastside. It's Land O'Lakes' first trip to the state semifinals since 2000.

The Gators will practice Thursday night in Tallahassee and spend the night there, athletic director Karen Coss said. The team will head to Choctawhatchee High School on Friday for its 7 p.m. Class 3A state semifinal game.

The state final would be next Saturday at USF.
