Land O'Lakes coach Matt Kitchie said that starting running back Ryan Lane suffered a concussion in practice on Tuesday and will not play in the Gators' district opener against winless Zephyrhills on Friday.

Spencer Phillips, a junior, will get the start in Lane's place.

The injury to Lane shouldn't be a big concern for the 2-0 Gators. Phillips actually has 13 carries this season to Lane's 12 and scored a first quarter touchdown in the Gators' 34-15 victory over Springstead last week.
